1202.44}, {"text": "Lakeshore there are other streets moving up to Randall and there are businesses and and restaurants all through there", "start": 1202.44, "end": 1208.6}, {"text": "and so can we create more of a a flow through and what kind of role does the library play in in creating more", "start": 1208.6, "end": 1214.72}, {"text": "vibrancy deeper into into the Oakville downtown um they've also highlighted", "start": 1214.72, "end": 1223.44}, {"text": "uh what central can bring outside of the different libraries right and we we", "start": 1223.44, "end": 1228.76}, {"text": "talked a little bit about that as part of the parks uh Recreation and Library master plan is what makes Central", "start": 1228.76, "end": 1234.52}, {"text": "Library unique and that was a question that we wanted to ask as part of the public consultation so we did hear about", "start": 1234.52, "end": 1241.24}, {"text": "um it needs to be a destination Library it needs to have features and services", "start": 1241.24, "end": 1246.52}, {"text": "um that serve the whole community and what does that look like um so those are conversations that that continue to be", "start": 1246.52, "end": 1252.559}, {"text": "ongoing um you know if anybody's been to our current uh Central Branch the", "start": 1252.559, "end": 1257.679}, {"text": "children's area we knew that that would be a major um concern and and and desire", "start": 1257.679, "end": 1262.799}, {"text": "for people it is one of our biggest children spaces um and when we first started having conversations about um", "start": 1262.799, "end": 1269.6}, {"text": "moving or even when we were talking uh do we move or do we renovate um that was one of the key things that I kept", "start": 1269.6, "end": 1274.799}, {"text": "hearing you know I raised I raised my kids in this children's area or I grew up in this children's area and so really", "start": 1274.799, "end": 1281.279}, {"text": "understanding what is it about that that we can then take with us um to create an", "start": 1281.279, "end": 1286.64}, {"text": "even better kind of scenario at at at the new facility but but recognizing", "start": 1286.64, "end": 1292.08}, {"text": "what that space meant to so many families throughout the year um really", "start": 1292.08, "end": 1297.52}, {"text": "strong desire for there to be an integration between outdoor and indoor space um which is is really nice for us", "start": 1297.52, "end": 1303.2}, {"text": "to hear because it echoes what we've been hearing in terms of others right when we introduced The Outdoor space at Glenn Abbey the outdoor spaces that", "start": 1303.2, "end": 1309.36}, {"text": "we're introducing as part of 16 mile um as we continue to get these consultations it keeps coming up which", "start": 1309.36, "end": 1314.559}, {"text": "tells us we're on the right track really trying to integrate that um indoor outdoor connection um that we can really", "start": 1314.559, "end": 1321.64}, {"text": "build into this uh and again community space which which we've talked about you know when when Perkins of will came or", "start": 1321.64, "end": 1327.36}, {"text": "even when Monte Brown was here um to really look at what is the role of the", "start": 1327.36, "end": 1332.799}, {"text": "library in providing community space and what opportunities are there at Central um to provide an event space for those", "start": 1332.799, "end": 1339.72}, {"text": "of you who've been in our current Auditorium it's well used but it it's not um a space people are clamoring to", "start": 1339.72, "end": 1346.36}, {"text": "have access to but I think there's a really great opport opportunity for us to create an event space in the new", "start": 1346.36, "end": 1351.6}, {"text": "Central um which then selfishly also is potentially a revenue Avenue for us to to be able to to explore um and then", "start": 1351.6, "end": 1359.64}, {"text": "there was a lot of conversation around the role of the Oakville room um and how we can make that prominent and importance and and more so than than", "start": 1359.64, "end": 1366.559}, {"text": "just having the Oakville room but the opportunity for us to integrate some of of oakville's History not just in a room", "start": 1366.559, "end": 1372.84}, {"text": "hidden away but throughout the facility and potentially um Beyond so those was those are some key pieces that came", "start": 1372.84, "end": 1378.52}, {"text": "better the public consultation um that we've been really looking at incorporating in into the concept", "start": 1378.52, "end": 1424.48, "end": 1431.6}, {"text": "history component to it and and wanting really to to be have that expanded um which then led into some really great", "start": 1431.6, "end": 1437.799}, {"text": "conversations about how we then bring in the Indigenous perspective um and how", "start": 1437.799, "end": 1442.96}, {"text": "that can can be integrated in um throughout the", "start": 1442.96, "end": 1448.2}, {"text": "entire philosophy really of of of the build itself when you say local history you mean local history in general or of", "start": 1448.2, "end": 1454.08}, {"text": "this basis so I think there was there was a lot of conversation about you know we", "start": 1454.08, "end": 1459.76}, {"text": "have we have the Oakville room um but is there the ability to to look at that to", "start": 1459.76, "end": 1466.279}, {"text": "incorporate more what is our connection with with the museum and the Oakfield Museum and and I think we've been operating as separate kind of pieces to", potentially skew things or no definitely it does speak to I can't tell", "start": 1654.799, "end": 1659.88}, {"text": "you that we did a one for one comparison a comparison of it um but we did know that one of our biggest challenges would", "start": 1659.88, "end": 1666.159}, {"text": "would especially with the survey would be to get respondents from all areas of Oakville and and we really tried that people up in like w seven would would oh that's that's Central that's not for us um and", "start": 1679.559, "end": 1686.039}, {"text": "so how do we how do we overcome that which is why we we tried to do more of a holistic approach to do a survey but", "start": 1686.039, "end": 1691.559}, {"text": "then also you know the the the teen session that we had we pulled significant amount from up there so how", "start": 1691.559, "end": 1697.88}, {"text": "could we kind of tackle some of the children's programs we deliberately ran at all the branches so how could we kind of balance out what we thought was", "start": 1697.88, "end": 1704.6}, {"text": "likely to happen with the survey because people see Central Branch oh that's that's a Down Oak fil thing um in order", "start": 1704.6, "end": 1710.919}, {"text": "to to try and create a holistic picture so across all the sources of data you're", "start": 1710.919, "end": 1716.24}, {"text": "hoping to get a good cross-section exactly yeah that the team has started to think about um you know what that might", "start": 1738.159, "end": 1745.159}, {"text": "look like if is that feasible and I was just thinking I know a lot of the community centers have like a food", "start": 1745.159, "end": 1751.32}, {"text": "service is there you know alignment or using the same type of partner to be able to offer the same way that they do",
